I'm Laurenzo, an engineering leader with a background that spans hands-on technical work and people leadership. Over the years, I’ve grown from writing and shipping code to leading teams responsible for complex, large-scale systems, while staying deeply connected to the human side of engineering.
I currently lead engineering teams at GitHub, working on Copilot. The work sits at the intersection of AI, developer experience, and organizational complexity, and it has shaped how I think about leadership in environments where technology evolves faster than the structures around it.
My career has taken me across a range of domains including web, mobile, cloud, and platform engineering. Along the way, I’ve learned that sustainable progress depends less on individual brilliance and more on healthy systems, clear thinking, and trust within teams. I care deeply about how decisions are made, how work is shaped, and how people grow over time. I’m particularly interested in systems thinking, organizational design, and the practical realities of leading engineers through change.
Outside of work, I’m a lifelong learner who enjoys reflecting on how technology and people influence one another, both inside and outside of engineering organizations.
